Welcome to the 137th N.Y.Volunteer Infantry Company F Web Page.

We are a new unit formed in January 2000 by a group of individuals who wanted to be part of a unit where members make a difference. While small in numbers, the 137th makes up in quality what we lack in quantity . Even though we are based in Broome County N.Y., our membership is made of people from different parts of New York state. We also like to recruit in northeast Pennsylvania. Most of the events we attend are in New York and Pennsylvania. These include many different kind of events: battle reenactments, living histories, school and historical organization presentations, parades, etc. We also attend some national events.

We take pride in the fact we reenact the 137th and only the 137th, and do our best to keep the memory of the brave men who served with in the 137th N.Y. alive. Our unit will not tarnish this honor. We consider ourselves as living historians who pay respect through our actions as well our words. We are not about beer blasts, rowdy behavior, or late-night shenanigans. That only brings disgrace to the unit and to the memory of the brave men who gave their all for what they believed in.

The 137th is looking for new members, both military and civilian. (Sorry, minimum age for military is 16 years of age to handle a firearm). Our doors are open to musicians, too.

No experience is needed. We will help you get on your way for an experience that you don't get from books or movies. You will live it and you will love it.

So give the 137th a look. We're sure you will find us more than willing to answer your questions.
